#22 - Re-Reflector - 95bpm

This is Re-Reflector and I made it 21/11/24 in Whyalla, South Australia. All melodic and bass sounds for this beat come from the Roland S-1, which I'm enjoying more and more these days. The only sample is Paul McCartney getting questioned about his release from Jamaican jail for cannabis possession in 1984.

I've been using my Novation Circuit Rhythm as a kind of "Sampling FX Pad", bringing both the S-1 signal and the CR Signal IN to the Octatrack, and then having CUE out heading back into the CR for when I want to effect a part. The reverb, delay and GRID FX on the Circuit Rhythm are really fun, and as hands-on as the Octatrack is I kinda like having more direct knob-twiddling abilities. I've been doing lots of resampling back and forth to bake in parts and FX, vastly extending the track count I have available on the Octatrack in a way.
